The Harmony Manifesto Competition
Pupils write a Harmony Manifesto as their final piece. Details are in the scheme of learning.
Schools can enter 10 candidates for this annual inter-school essay competition, judged by John Lewis-Stempel, author of one of the non-fiction texts in the Programme.
Prizes and medals are awarded for the best entries and runners up; and certificates for all pupils.
How Bloom meets Ofsted criteria
Teaching the Bloom non-fiction programme gave my students an appreciation of nature I don't know they would have otherwise had. Students tell me about the natural world they have come across outside of lessons, like patterns in fruit or flowers. I too have developed a greater appreciation of nature through teaching it.”
